2015 Bow Mistress Trophy Final Field and Barrier Draw

February 5th, 2015

A talented field of fifteen runners have been confirmed in the final field for Friday’s Group 3 Bow Mistress Trophy (1200m) in Tasmania, highlighted by some of the Apple Isle’s standout fillies and mares and several notable mainland raiders.

A standout performer for the Cranbourne trainer in 2014, Stephen Theodore has confirmed talented mare Lady Lakshmi in the 2015 Bow Mistress Trophy final field.

The winner of five starts and finishing in the top three a further six times over her 23 race career, Lady Lakshmi won the Smart Track Australia Handicap (1400m) on March 22nd last year; progressing to a closed second in the Le Pine Funerals BM78 (1400m) before making a competitive transition to black type racing in running second in each of the Listed Nitschke Stakes (1400m) and Listed Adelaide Guineas (1600m) and third in the Listed JHB Carr Stakes (1400m) most notably

Allocated the ideal barrier 5, Theodore has confirmed jockey Daniel Stackhouse will take the ride on Lady Lakshmi in the 2015 Bow Mistress Trophy.

Joining Lady Lakshmi as leading chance to take the 2015 Bow Mistress Trophy back to Victoria, Vibrant Rouge secured several commendable results over the last spring and summer, but will have to overcome the wide and awkward barrier 13 on Friday.

Claiming six wins and five minor places from her 24 competitive appearances on course so far, Vibrant Rouge placed a credible sixth in the Weary Dunlop BM90 (1206m) first-up on October 5th before and impressive performance for third in the Group 3 Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day.

While unable to make much of an impact over three proceeding starts, trainer Glenn Thornton has been thrilled with the form and class displayed by the Written Tycoon mare in recent weeks and is confident a return to black type company in Tasmania will see a return to the winner’s circle.

Offered a huge boost when confirmed to be partnered by leading Victorian jockey Dean Yendall, Angelic Lass will be forced to settle towards the rear of the field from barrier 14, which should in fact suit her running style.

Running an impressive fourth in the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m) most notably over the 2014 Autumn Carnival, Angelic Lass has finished fourth in each of the Sportingbet Best Tote FM (1400m) and Mason Park Funerals BM70 (1400m) most recently and will line up for the 2015 Bow Mistress Trophy following a summer freshen-up.
